"Dead Can Dance" is the debut solo show by Moscow-based artist Alexey Bevza, who over the past year has managed to present his work at several group exhibitions at ISSMAG, ART4, Spas Setun and others. The exhibition at IP Vinogradov will present works from three different series, united by a single installation solution.
Bevza's work is distinguished by ringing traditionalism both in the choice of techniques and in the approach to the plot. The history of art, the key reference of Alexey's work, is read in the logic of mystical exegesis and appears as an atlas of sacred symbols. Sacred science, which is undoubtedly art for Bevza, is irrefutable because it does not require proof. Nevertheless, the access of the viewer (even the modern one) to the inner spiritual text always remains open - in Bevz's works there is the necessary exoteric interface that allows one to discover familiar systems of signs: the dungeon of aesthetics, cinematic framing, mystic-oriented ontologies.
